CONGRATULATIONS
TO TIL INSTRUCTOR MR. EMELIANO B. PARIJO
AND THE TIL STAFF FOR WINNING THE 2011 WELDING COMPETITION
HOSTED BY THE PHILIPPINE WELDING SOCIETY & TESDA!
Posted on 25 March 2011

Transnational Institute
of Learning's Instructor Mr. Emeliano B. Parijo won the 2011 Welding
Competition hosted by the Philippine Welding Society and TESDA
conducted at the TESDA compound, Taguig City. The competition
was participated by various Training Centers, Construction Corporations,
as well as Manufacturing Companies from around the Philippines.
The total number of participants reached to twenty three. All
of the companies who participated sent multiple welders like EEI
Corporation who sent two welders, AG&P had four welders, and
TOYOTA sent six welders in order to have better chances of winning
the competition. Unfortunately for them, all it took for TIL was
Mr. Emeliano B. Parijo under the guidance of our Chief Welding
Instructor and Welding Training Manager Mr. Galileo Santos and
their sound theoretical and absolute skills mastery of the science
of welding.
The Welding Competition
involved the process of jointing two pieces of Mild Steel Plate
6 inches by twelve inches using stainless steel welding rods.
This process of welding is the most difficult of the Arc Welding
Process as this is considered an Alloy Joint or jointing of different
metals together. Under TESDA, the jointing of Alloys is considered
as NCIII, the highest certification for welders. After the welding
of the two pieces of Mild Steel Plate, the test pieces were then
sent to a Laboratory for Radiographic Testing (the metal would
be "x-rayed" for flaws).
The awarding was held during
the Annual Members Convention of the Philippine Welding Society
at the TESDA Compound in Taguig City. The other winners were one
lady welder from the TESDA Women's Center, another lady welder
from AG&P, and the last came from EEI Corporation. A Certificate
of Recognition was given to Mr. Parijo and TIL plus a cash price
amounting to Php 7,500.00 was also given.
TIL joined the competition
primarily to showcase it's competence in administering welding
training to its clients as well as our capability to asses applicants
during trade testing. In other words, TIL Welding Instructors
and Assessors "PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH" and are among
the Top Welders in the Philippines. Headed by our Welding Training
Manager Mr. Galileo Santos which is a DNV Certified Welder plus
a Certified Welding Inspector, TIL has further established itself
as among the top welding training centers in the Philippines.
As an added benefit to
our joining the competition, TIL was able to market our facilities
and equipment to new clients as the event was also graced by the
various companies who deploys OFW's to Land Based jobs abroad.
Also present were the various distributors of welding equipments
and supplies for the industry.
